Roof Shingles Replacement

If you find that your existing roof shingles are damaged, you should consider installing architectural shingles.  You have two choices in doing this:

Completely remove the old shingles and replace them with architectural shingles:

This is appropriate when your shingles are severely damaged.

OR

Install a layer of architectural shingles over the old shingles:

The old shingles can provide extra insulation, and you won’t have to deal with the time and money involved in removing them.  However, be aware of your local laws, as some places prohibit having more than one layer of shingles.

1. Check for any damaged shingles, which you should repair or replace before installing the architectural shingles.

2. Appy a layer roofing felt, which makes the architectural shingles more durable.

3. Begin installing the architectural shingles.

Whether you are building a brand new house, or simply doing a roof replacement on the home you’ve cherished for years, architectural shingles will provide the strength and aesthetic quality you deserve.  For more questions about roofing materials and installation, don’t hesitate to contact M.
